Josie Meiss is a dance artist and educator from Northwest Indiana. Her dance education began at Flint’s Dance Studio in Mishawaka, Indiana, where she trained for fifteen years in various genres before pursuing a BFA degree in Dance at Ball State University. There, she graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors distinction, and a minor in Psychology of Human Development. Josie relocated to the Nashville area in the Fall of 2019, where she has participated in various projects with FALL. In 2020, she helped produce FALL's only outdoor, socially distant performance Windows and performed alongside Blue Moves in Building Hope. She is also an instructor at Rejoice School of Ballet. Josie is beyond grateful to be a part of A Bending of Its Own Kind 2.0. The process of making this work has been challenging, moving, healing, and above all, rewarding.
